Heavy Civil Construction Careers
Who & Where We Hire
Working at P&A Civil means building site work across Pierce, King, and Thurston Counties from a Tacoma base. Jobs stay in the region, so crews spend time on the work instead of on the road. The variety runs from residential plats to commercial pads and public infrastructure, which keeps the work from getting repetitive.
Equipment Operator, Laborer, Grade Crew, and Pipe Crew Opportunities
Heavy civil work takes several trades, and P&A Civil may hire across all of them. Potential roles include equipment operators, general laborers, grade crew, and pipe crew, depending on current project needs. Operators run the iron behind our equipment and fleet, while grade and pipe crews handle the earthwork and utility work that carry a site. Each role has a path to more responsibility for people who show up and produce.
Where Hard Work, Skills & Safety Matter
Built on Accountability
The best civil careers are built one scope at a time. A laborer who learns grade can move onto the grade crew, and an operator who learns the utility side becomes hard to replace. We work across earthwork, utilities, and concrete, so there is room to broaden skills rather than stay boxed into one task. Read how we approach the work in our story.
People stay where the work is run well and the crew has their back. Safety and accountability are the base of how we operate, and everyone is trained and expected to work safely and speak up. See how we run field safety on the safety and quality page. That culture is a big part of why field people build long careers here.
